How do we get students talking and promote mathematical discourse in the classroom? Mathematical discourse is associated with one of the Common Core Mathematical Practices: construct viable arguments and critiques the reasoning of others. Participants will learn how to cultivate and support discourse in the classroom, explore the levels of math talk for teachers and students with video vignettes and classroom examples and learn instructional strategies to help your students make their thinking visible.
