Who benefits from TIE membership?
Our 190 member school districts and organizations benefit from district level discounts to quality professional learning, while every teacher and administrator within these member agencies may utilize the individual learning benefits. More than 90% of SD school districts, as well as numerous other learning organizations, currently benefit from TIE membership. See a listing of TIE Member districts here.

Vendor discounts, online course participation, individual school district contracts, and TIE Conference discounts contribute to additional savings, which last year totaled over $400,000 for TIE member school districts.

Why should a district become a TIE member?
TIE membership districts save money & time by utilizing the following benefits:

  • Free online workshops
TIE provides numerous online workshops throughout the year on topics that are relevant and cutting edge. Educators may choose from a variety of options including self-paced online workshops. The first 100 registrations per Membership District are free. Educators have the option of earning graduate credit.
  • Reduced rates for individual school district contracts
TIE learning specialists conduct customized professional development or project management at your school site at rates significantly lower than for non-member districts. TIE Learning Specialists also offer a comprehensive approach to Customized Learning.
  • Free Tech Tuesday Webinars
Each thirty-minute, after-school webinar features a new app or web-based technology  providing step-by-step information and engagement with a TIE Learning Specialist. Held the first Tuesday of every month at 3:30 MST/4:30 CST, these live webinars require only an Internet connection. No prior experience of the featured product is necessary and each webinar is recorded for later review.
  • Free administrator attendance PLUS educator discounts to TIE conference
SD’s premier educational conference, the annual TIE Conference features several half-day indepth workshops, a wide variety of breakout sessions, more than 100 exhibitors, technology project meetings and personal networking to encourage implementation of 21st Century learning and technology trends. Discounted general registration is available to all educators from TIE membership districts, as well as a free general registration for a superintendent, principal, or school board member of Tier 2-4 members, while Tier 5-6 members receive two free administrator general registrations.
  • Free online technical training from ITPro TV
ITPro TV provides entertaining and engaging videos hosted by IT professionals. These videos are organized by vendor certification exam and by exam objective so you can select an area to focus on. In addition, the ITPro TV subscription provided by TIE allows access to Virtual Labs (vLabs), practice tests and a Questions and Answers area. Tier 2-6 can receive an online account to enroll in these classes.
  • TIE Reads, TIE’s Professional eLibrary
Energize and inform your knowledge and skills with TIE Reads, TIE’s Professional eLibrary. Available free to all TIE members, TIE Reads is a digital library of eBooks and audiobooks selected for personal and professional growth. Looking for technical manuals or resources for classroom instruction? Browse, borrow, read and listen to professional books with TIE Reads.
  • TIE Shared OverDrive Collection for Schools
TIE member districts are eligible to join a shared OverDrive digital collection for schools. This is a great way to leverage funds to access digital content. Sign-up forms and more information are available here.
  • Technology and Instruction Profile
Surprisingly, schools have little data on the types of instructional practices and technology usage in their buildings. TIE Membership offers the Technology and Instruction Profile (TIP) survey tools with both students and teachers that provide a snapshot of instruction in your schools. In this first year of launching TIP, Membership is offering this service for free! Contact Lennie Symes to schedule today.
  • Discounts from TIE vendor partners
Membership districts reduce costs on hardware, software, professional services, and more by purchasing products from TIE Membership Vendor Partners who often make special offers to membership districts.

When may a district become a member?
TIE membership year is July 1 to June 30, allowing educators to participate in summer offerings, such as online workshops in addition to the school year benefits.

How is membership initiated?
Membership is initiated via a district or agency purchase order. For university pricing or further membership information, contact TIE Membership.
