Course Description

Proportional reasoning is one of the most fundamental topics in middle grades mathematics. A student’s ability to reason proportionally affects their understanding of fractions and measurement in elementary school, and it supports their understanding of functions and algebra in middle school and beyond. Teachers will broaden and deepen their understanding of ratios, proportions, and proportional reasoning. This course will help you to engage your students in hands-on learning where you will develop appropriate tasks, techniques, and tools for assessing your students’ understanding of the topic.
