TIE and New Horizons have partnered together to provide free technical training for TIE member schools. A and B schools receive 2-days of technical training ($800 value) and AA schools receive 4-days of technical training ($1,600 value). This program allows your Technology Coordinator to receive customized technical training that meets the individual needs of your school district. Specifics for this program include:
- TIE Members receive the following days of free technical training:
- 2 Days for B Schools
- 2 Days for A Schools
- 4 Days for AA Schools
- 4 Days for Colleges & Universities
- This free technical training offer is valid from July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008.
- To register for this TIE sponsored training, browse to www.nhsf.com/tie and complete the form. Fill out your contact information.
- Select the topics you prefer for Day 1 and Day 2 with the drop down box.
- Check up to 6 modules in each of the workshops that you would like to complete each day.
- Technical training will only be available in Mentored Learning at New Horizons in Sioux Falls or Rapid City. Use the drop down lists to view available mentored learning courses at www.nhsf.com/tie
- Mentored Learning Training will be customized on workshops listed on www.nhsf.com/tie website. TIE Members will be allowed to design an individualized curriculum for each of their training days. Up to 6 modules per day can be chosen.
- Choose “Regular Scheduled Applications Class” (2nd item on the pull down list).
- Click on the day that the class is scheduled on the calendar.
- New Horizons will contact you to register or confirm your attendance for the applications class
- Application Training will be available only through regularly scheduled classes in Sioux Falls or Rapid City or other select South Dakota locations. This schedule can be viewed by clicking on Sioux Falls or Rapid City under “Download our Schedule in PDF” at www.nhsf.com/tie
- Tuition for these classes is fully sponsored by TIE. There is no cost to you or your district other than books.
- Book purchase options:
- MOC (Microsoft Official Curriculum) book at a reduced cost of $200 per book for TECH classes
- Microsoft Press book between $20-$60 per book for TECH classes
- Book for Application classes will be included with training class.
- Assessments
- Pre-training assessments will be available to determine skill level prior to training and re-assessments available during the training to determine strengths and areas needing more work. Assessment costs are included in the training.
- Districts must be 2007-2008 paid TIE members to participate in this free training through New Horizons.
